Omega Speedmaster Snoopy Anniversary Edition
This 50th-anniversary commemorative timepiece pays tribute to the “Silver Snoopy Award” that OMEGA received from NASA astronauts in 1970, in recognition of the brand's contributions to space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission.
On the NAIAD LOCK caseback, a view of the far side of the Moon has been decorated on the sapphire crystal using a micro-structured metallisation process. An animated Snoopy inside his Command and Service Module (CSM) appears on a magic hand, which rotates when the chronograph function is activated. Behind it, an Earth disc rotates once per minute in sync with the watch’s small seconds hand.
The 42 mm stainless steel case is presented on a blue nylon fabric strap featuring the Apollo 13 mission trajectory embossed on the lining. The silver dial features blue PVD angled hour markers and hands, alongside an embossed silver Snoopy medallion on the blue subdial at 9 o'clock.
In addition to the black engravings on the caseback paying tribute to the Apollo 13 mission and OMEGA's Silver Snoopy Award, the watch also features a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel ring with a white enamel tachymetre scale. The non-limited watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 3861 and is presented in a special presentation box.
